This past Friday marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of conductor Herbert Von Karajan. We’re featuring many of Karajan’s recordings throughout the month – as we have done throughout the history of WFMT. In conjunction with this birthday observance and the conductor’s artistry, some listeners have asked how we have dealt with Karajan’s involvement with the Nazi party before and during WWII. I thought I would share with you here this portion from Jon Tolansky’s Karajan documentary which aired this past weekend. We’ll be interested to hear your ongoing comments on this and any other WFMT topic.
