When Abraham Lincoln breathed his last, Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton uttered the prescient phrase, “And now he belongs to the ages.” Around Chicago there are so many places called “Lincoln,” we readily speak his name without a thought to the man or his accomplishments. Tuesday morning between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, take an hour to celebrate the legacy of Abraham Lincoln with Carl Grapentine and WFMT. Selections include Civil War era works, plus music from Ken Burns’ landmark Civil War series and Steven Spielberg’s feature film “Lincoln.”
