Jeffrey Siegel: Listen and Learn

Siegel

WFMT Impromptu, Thursday at 11:00 am

Pianist Jeffrey Siegel returns to Pick-Staiger Concert Hall this week for his ongoing series “Keyboard Conversations.” The international artist has done more than hold his own with major orchestras and conductors, he’s become an important educator, speaking to American and European audiences from the piano about a topic he knows intimately: music.

45 years into these recital/lectures, called “Keyboard Conversations,” he’s built an impressive repertory of over 100 topics to go along with his sizable piano repertoire. Just this fall, he’s spoken on “The Miracle of Mozart;” “Music of Joyous Celebration;” “Schubert and Brahms;” “Liszt: Torment and Triumph;” “Romanticism of Russian Soul;” “Gershwin and Friends;” “Classics Go Pop!;” “Romantic Music of Chopin;” “Power and Passion of Beethoven;” “Popular Piano Classics;” and “Rachmaninoff and Friends.”
