Joyce DiDonato in Live Impromptu

Mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato

Mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato

Impromptu on Wednesday at 4:00 PM

She is a five-star, Grammy Award-winning diva. Bending to box office pressures, the Metropolitan Opera now favors more bel canto repertoire for this American mezzo. Joyce DiDonato has the voice and the acting chops to gain entrance to any opera house in the world, but hasn’t (according to friends) lost her Kansas City, girl-next-door wholesomeness.

Ms. DiDonato comes to WFMT for a little music and conversation on Wednesday at 4:00 PM. She is in Chicago to sing Sesto in Lyric Opera’s production of Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito. The David McVicar production runs at the Civic Opera House through March 23. The opening night of La clemenza will be re-broadcast on WFMT in the summer of 2014.

is this interview available online? I was not able to tune in yesterday. Many thanks.

Is this going to be available. The Gods were not with my computer and internet last night and I was only able to hear a word, or note, or sound or bleep, every once in a while.
Would love to hear the whole thing.
Also, will you be broadcasting La Clemenza again? I listened to opening night, but with the accompanying cut outs from the ether. So frustrating.
Still time to fly out to Chicago for the past performance, or two, but there’s a small problem of $$$$
