Hear a radio tribute to the musicians who passed in 2013 produced by WFMT’s Suzanne Nance.
On Saturday and Sunday this week, take some time to remember some of music’s bright stars who passed in 2013 including Sir Colin Davis, whose break came when Otto Klemperer fell ill during the Proms concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall; Davis conducted an acclaimed concert performance of Don Giovanni with Elizabeth Schwarzkopf and Joan Sutherland. Others to pass in 2013 include Janos Starker (who played principal cello of the CSO for a short time before going on to a solo career); composer Henri Dutilleux; and Lyric Opera of Chicago maestro Bruno Bartoletti, who was central to establishing Lyric as a world-class company.
WFMT’s Candice Agree will feature recordings and remembrances during her morning program starting at 7:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
