A New Home for Live Music

PianoForte Studios

PianoForte Chicago is one of those community partners that WFMT cherishes. What began as a piano shop run by an enthusiast for the instrument, in particular for Fazioli pianos, rapidly sprouted a non-profit to present concerts, workshops, masterclasses and a number of programs to promote piano music and education.

Known to the WFMT audience for PianoForte Salon Series Live; a free, noontime concert series broadcast on the first Friday of every month, PianoForte has just moved into a brand new facility at 1335 S. Michigan. The ribbon cutting was Thursday, the shop is open for business, and the recital hall will be alive with a marathon of free piano concerts on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

November 1st marks the first Salon Series broadcast from the new facility, with Michael Hall, viola & Yu-Sui Hung, piano.
