Renée Fleming LIVE with Lisa Flynn, 3:00 PM on Tuesday
She’s among the most recognized figures in opera. With a career spanning the world’s stages, it seems unlikely this luminous figure should touch down in Chicago to pour her offstage energy into the city’s arts education; but she has.
Serving as Lyric Opera of Chicago’s first ever creative consultant, Renée Fleming brings with her a global perspective grounded by an all-American upbringing (the daughter of music teachers), and concern for future generations, which comes naturally for a mother of two.
Already, she’s forged partnerships with The Second City and the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization; she also joined forces with Yo-Yo Ma and the CSO to draft a cultural plan for the City of Chicago; a wide-reaching initiative involving the public schools and organizations throughout the community.
Renée Fleming’s latest CD, Guilty Pleasures, is featured in Lisa Flynn’s The New Releases. She will sit down with Lisa on Tuesday for music and conversation.
