Hear the Emerson Quartet recorded live at the 2013 Ravinia Festival, Monday at 8:00 PM
The Emerson Quartet’s recording of Beethoven’s Op. 127 is an almost religious experience, born out of tens of thousands of hours spent working, studying, practicing. It doesn’t exactly evoke images of four guys yukking it up, though the multi-talented Emersons are anything but stiff.
Listen to Philip Setzer and Eugene Drucker from a 2007 interview with Louise Frank discussing the name of their quartet.
