Hear Live from WFMT, Monday at 8:00 PM
Playing all 32 Beethoven piano sonatas is essential repertoire for every classical pianist, but not every classical pianist would be asked to play them on live radio. Matthew Hagle has had a long relationship with WFMT: as a collaborator with other performers such as Rachel Barton Pine, and as a soloist. His consistency and high level of musicianship always deliver a satisfying evening, so WFMT music director Andi Lamoreaux and producer Kerry Frumkin thought, “why not?”
There are two ways to hear Matt Hagle play Beethoven on WFMT. He begins the first in this series of Beethoven Sonatas Monday evening on Live from WFMT at 8:00 PM. You can also listen on-demand to his performance recorded by WFMT last Friday at the Piano Forte Foundation where Matt was a featured artist at Make Music Chicago.
Make Music Chicago presented live performances and performance opportunities for local musicians of every genre and level across the city on Friday, June 21. See video.
