The Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts don’t typically make the first pages of the travel books, yet they give Chicago a depth and cultural richness that’s hard to beat. Each week the series showcases a recital by young and emerging musicians beneath an exquisite Tiffany dome; and it’s free.
Violinist and Moscow-native Yury Revich raised the roof (gently) a few weeks ago, bringing his fire-brand virtuosity to a mixed program of Bach, Ravel, Bizet/Sarasate and Pergolesi. Listen to the performance recorded last month.
Tune in for this week’s concert with cellist Benjamin Lash and pianist Matt Hagle on Wednesday at 12:15 PM.
