The Seven Last Words of Christ, performed by the Vermeer Quartet, will be broadcast on WFMT Friday night at 8:00 PM.
For over two decades, the Vermeer Quartet has made Haydn’s The Seven Last Words of Christ a Chicago tradition during Holy Week. Inviting speakers from across the social spectrum, sometimes with opposing views, Vermeer’s collaborators have included the Reverend Billy Graham, Jason Robards, T.L. Barrett, Cardinal Francis George, and even Barack Obama, when he was a newcomer to public life.

*WFMT mourns the loss of cellist Marc Johnson pictured in this video. Cellist Kurt Baldwin will play in Marc’s place on Friday’s broadcast.
