Ann Hallenberg, mezzo-soprano; Les Talens Lyriques / Christophe Rousset

The soundtrack of Gérard Corbiau’s 1994 film “Farinelli” contributed to the international success of Les Talens Lyriques. For the film, in order to reinvent the voice of Carlo Broschi, known as Farinelli, a computer was used to mix the timbres of countertenor Derek Lee Ragin and coloratura soprano Ewa Mallas-Godlewska. For this stage production, music director Christophe Rousset chose mezzo-sprano Ann Hallenberg to portray the first rock star in the history of music.
