Bach: Keyboard Concerto in F major, BWV 1057 (17:09)

Julia Zilberquit, piano; Moscow Virtuosi / Saulius Sondeckis

Russian-born American pianist Julia Zilberquit has earned critical acclaim as a recitalist, orchestral soloist, chamber musician and recording artist. For her first album on Warner Classics, she chose to trace Bach’s revolutionary development of the solo keyboard concerto with orchestra beginning with two concertos by Vivaldi which Bach had transcribed for organ, and which Zilberquit has now re-transcribed for keyboard and chamber orchestra (a practice entirely in keeping with Baroque tradition). She complements these fascinating works with all seven of Bach’s own solo keyboard concertos.
