Mozart Clarinet Works
Mozart: Trio for Clarinet, Viola & Piano in E-flat major, K 498, Kegelstatt (18:41)
Martin Fröst, clarinet; Antoine Tamestit, viola; Leif Ove Andsnes, piano
Martin Fröst’s first recording of Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto was made in 2003. A decade later, he returns to this glorious work, directing the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen himself. Fröst has assembled a star-studded group of musician friends, with Leif Ove Andsnes and Antoine Tamestit partnering him in the Kegelstatt Trio, and with Janine Jansen, Boris Brovtsyn, Maxim Rysanov and Torleif Thedéen joining him in the rarely heard Allegro for Clarinet and String Quartet.
