      Britten: Violin Concerto, Op 15

Livia Sohn, violin; Teatro Marrucino di Chieti Orchestra / Luigi Piovano

This new recording pairs Britten’s Violin Concerto of 1939 with Jiyeh, a concerto by Israeli-American composer Jonathan Berger. Written for and premiered by Livia Sohn in 2007, Jiyeh is scored for chamber orchestra, violin, cimbalom and percussion. The album coincides with the Britten centennial celebration in 2013.

      1. The playing was exquisite. It was an insight into Britton I never had.
