Emily is a 7th grader at Margaret Mead Jr. High School and studies piano with Brenda Huang. Emily started to play piano when she was 7 years old and when she was 9 years old, Emily made her solo concert debut at the Chicago Public Library, Cindy Pritzker Auditorium as part of the Young Piano Prodigies program.
Some of Emily’s awards include placing first at the 2015 Emilio Del Rosario Piano Competition, Junior Division, and performing with the Harper Symphony Orchestra, winning second place at the 2015 Carmel Klaiver International Competition, Concerto Junior Division, winning second place at the 2015 Illinois State Music Teachers Association Piano Competitions (ISMTA), Junior Division State Final. Emily also placed first at both the 2015 Sejong Music Competition and the 2015 Music Festival In Honor of Confucius, Junior Division. Recently, Emily placed second at the 2017 Society of American Musicians Competition (SAM), Young Artist Division.
