The 2012 All-State Honors Chorus and Band concert of the Illinois Music Educators Association’s annual conference in Peoria. The IMEA is the largest fine arts education organization in Illinois, and this concert features some of the most advanced high school band and choral students in the state. Students practiced last summer for an audition to participate in the November IMEA District ensembles, and students from each district were then chosen to participate in the All-State Conference in January. Another audition at the conference further narrowed down musicians to participate in the orchestra we’ll listen to today.

Honors Chorus conducted by Brad Holmes, Millikin University, East Lansing, Michigan
Honors Band conducted by James Lambrecht, Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois

I was principal clarinet in the honors band!!
The conductor for the Honors Chorus this year was actually Pearl Shangkuan. They printed the wrong name in the program, since Brad Holmes was the conductor from 2011. Her bio was in the program accordingly, but the name under the choir was wrong.
