The 2012 All-State Honors Orchestra concert of the Illinois Music Educators Association’s annual conference in Peoria. The IMEA is the largest fine arts education organization in Illinois, and this concert features some of the most advanced high school orchestral students in the state. Students practiced last summer for an audition to participate in the November IMEA District ensembles, and students from each district were then chosen to participate in the All-State Conference in January. Another audition at the conference further narrowed down musicians to participate in the orchestra we’ll listen to today.
The IMEA All-State Honors Band and Chorus performances will air Saturday, March 31 at 11AM.
Program:
From Carver Arena in the Peoria, IL Civic Center
Conducted by Kevin Noe, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI
January 28, 2012
Berlioz: Roman Carnival Overture
Copland: Billy the Kid
