Baroque Festival Orchestra of the Hall School of Music, Wheaton, IL

Play

The Hall School of Music in Wheaton was founded in 1996 by Drostan and Dorothy Hall. Since then the school has grown considerably and has established itself as one of the

Students of the Hall School of Music (Wheaton, IL) in WFMT's Levin Performance Studio

finest private music schools in Chicagoland. The school operates a chamber music and orchestral program on Saturday’s conducted by Drostan Hall. Drostan is also the Music Director of Camerata Chicago. The Training and Baroque Festival Orchestras represents the most advanced students enrolled at the school. In 2008 the Baroque Festival Orchestra received an invitation from Chicago radio station WFMT to perform live on Introductions a weekly show featuring the best young musicians from Chicago.

Many of their students hold principal positions in their school orchestras and are members of local youth orchestras including the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.  Several of the school’s graduates have gone on to study at the Julliard School of Music,
Northwestern University and with the Vermeer Quartet at Northern Illinois University.  A few of the very best students have been selected to play in Camerata Chicago, a professional chamber Orchestra.
