Mary Elizabeth Buckingham began playing flute when she was seven years old. She has studied at the Music Institute of Chicago with Meret Bitticks for eight years and prior to that with Rebecca Luzzi. At New Trier High School she plays in Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. She also enjoys playing with a flute quartet outside of school.
Mary Elizabeth has also studied at many flute institutes. She has attended: Oberlin Summer Flute Institute, Ohio State Flue Insitute, Sherwood Conservatory Flute Institute and many, many Suzuki flute institutes over the years. She was a finalist in November of 2010 in the Senior Division of The Chicago Flute Club Competition.
