    All true. I would add a shout out to the Chicago Shakespeare Theater as well. Not as old, and I’m sure one can quibble with this or that, but an astonishing accomplishment, imo. And, hey, don’t forget us peanut gallery small donors and supporters from the city and the hinterlands. :)

    • Certainly wasn’t meaning to exclude any group, Nancy, but was talking about orchestras and opera companies given what has happened to some of them in some other cities. And I thought my point was that supporters come in all sizes and shapes. Here’s to the peanut gallery! ;-)
