Very important discussion, felt fortunate to hear it.

    Thank you,
    Joe Wallner

  2. Frederic T says:

I find it appalling that it took so long for the Philharmonic to own-up to the facts. The war was tragic to so many under Hitler’s rule and now to hear this, reflects so horribly on all the accomplishments of the Vienna Philharmonic over the years.

  3. Jan F says:

Many incredible things about this story — among them the fact that the Vienna Phil was basically Leonard Bernstein’s orchestra in his late years. He made numerous recordings with them. I wonder how much he knew about the war years. Or the ongoing cover-up or at least intentional silence.

  4. Kipp Weirich says:

Very powerful. I’m not Jewish but many, many friends, neighbors and extended family are. It causes much emotion in me to hear of this and other “mans inhumanity to man” events. That is why it is so important to listen, learn and never, never forget what has happened and could happen again. DO NOT look away! See, feel and REMEMBER. Never let this happen again. Thank you Andrew Patner.
